From 1973 to 1997, at the Charles Town Police Department, I worked my way up from patrolman to acting chief. I sought grant monies to increase the number of community officers. I used an innovative approach to establish the first bicycle patrol. I made the crime scene vehicle more available to better assist officers in investigating major crimes. Since 2000, I have been employed as a Bailiff for the Jefferson County court system.
Character Over the years I have learned that I have a passion for helping others. I enjoy working with the community. Anyone who knows me will attest to the fact that I am honest and fair with fellow officers and with all citizens. I am self-disciplined and am able to see each and every job through to its conclusion. My easygoing nature and calm demeanor serve me well in dealing with emergencies. I am not prone to rash behavior or anger. These personal characteristics enable me to work well with others and to be a consistent servant of justice for all.
Family I have been married to Judi Brunswick for thirty years. We have two sons and five grandchildren.
